WOOD REPLACEMENT VS RETREATMENT ONLY
Depending on your situation, you will either have a Wood Replacement Contract or a Retreatment Only Contract to treat your termite problem. Both termite contracts treat eastern subterranean termites[HM1] , excluding formosan termites. Houses on bodies of water and/or with lots of previous termite damage are often put on a retreatment only contracts.
THE DETAILS
Contract in hand, your technician will specify the primary structure to be covered by the treatment, but keep in mind this often does not include fences, detached garages, out-buildings, and decks. Then, a U.S. EPA approved liquid termiticide will then be applied to the specified structure professionally and with care to the surrounding structure(s), plants, and animals.
The cost of the labor and materials is established in the contract and due upon the completion of the work. A payment plan can be set up, but must be paid in full within six months. Any balance remaining 90 days past completion of the service will be subject to interest of 1.5% per month.
After treatment, May Exterminating will visually inspect the readily accessible areas to make sure the problem has been resolved. We do not open walls, remove floor coverings or move furniture so be prepared to slide a chair over or pull up a rug if you think an issue persist.
Your contract will renew automatically, once a year, unless you or the company states otherwise at least 30 days prior to the anniversary date.
Help protect your home by maintaining the treated areas. Keep wood, trash, soil and standing water away from wood/previously treated areas.
Be sure to notify May Exterminating if you plan to make any changes to the termite damaged structure. It is important to distinguish termite damage from past or existing damage.
And keep in mind, damage resulting from moisture conditions, wood in direct contact with soil, damage from stucco, synthetic stucco, and/or foam materials in contact with the soil in such a way that provides termites with hidden or protected access to the structure, damage from masonry failure, damaged wood or furniture introduced after treatment, and wells are not covered by these termite contracts.
These contracts can be canceled if chemical sensitivity becomes a concern prior to treatment or canceled any time prior to midnight of the third business day after the date of the agreement with a written notice.
Play it safe and ask questions. To help best serve you and future customers, we want to make sure we provide consistent and well executed services to protect you and your loved ones. Be sure to read the contract thoroughly and and communicated with our technicians. We are happy to help!
